Welcome to Wolf Run Observatory – A home-based observatory located in Upper Pottsgrove, PA. This site chronicles my journey in astrophotography and electronically assisted astronomy.

I hope to share the experiences, lessons, and enjoyment I’ve gained from this hobby. This includes my equipment choices, upgrades, missteps, images and processing techniques. This isn’t a how-to site – there are plenty of excellent ones run by people far more experienced than I am. Instead, this is my journey… and maybe, in some way, it will become part of your journey.

My goal is to share my experiences, my failures, and my successes. This is not an easy hobby. It’s expensive, time-consuming, and full of letdowns. But when you capture a great image of a DSO, planet, or cluster, it makes all the letdowns seem as if they never happened.
